2. Yukon Quest Alaska mushers and their dog teams will gather in about two weeks at the Morris Thompson Cultural and Visitors Center in Fairbanks for the start of this year's Yukon Quest.
3. Sen. Lisa Murkowski joined other senators on the the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee in welcoming President-elect Donald Trump's choice to lead the Department of Energy.
4. State election officials rejected more than 1,300 absentee ballots in the November 2024 general election, according to a report from the Alaska Division of Elections.
